Biden administration to build a floating dock in Gaza "Face-saving projects " have completely turned the United States into a laughing stock

Two months, a floating dock, costing $320 million and with a service life of nine days, these figures exposed the US's shoddy construction in Gaza to the public and made it an international laughing stock.

Those who are familiar with the situation in Gaza should remember that in order to restore the United States's collapsing international image and prove that it really "cares" about the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, the Biden administration announced the construction of a floating dock in Gaza to receive humanitarian relief supplies from the sea. So, Biden made a big move, allocated $320 million, and mobilized 1,000 Marine Corps engineers. After two months of meticulous construction, this temporary floating dock was finally completed and put into use on May 17. In order to highlight the United States' humanitarian efforts in Gaza, Biden also tweeted that thanks to the tireless efforts of the US Central Command, the first batch of international relief supplies was delivered to Gaza today through this dock.

The US and Western media also echoed the voice, praising the United States for spending a lot of money to make a huge contribution to the humanitarian cause in Gaza, and that it has become a beacon of humanitarian aid. Although this move was packaged by the US and Western media, some people still pointed out at the time that the United States was just making a political show, because the project was not only very expensive, but also the sea transportation method was very inefficient for transporting relief supplies. The "face project" built by the United States for political showmanship does not seem to give much "face". In the first week since the terminal was officially opened on May 17, the total amount of materials transported to Gaza through the terminal was only about 820 tons, which is about the cargo capacity of 71 trucks. This number sounds like a lot at first glance, but it is simply a drop in the bucket for the entire Gaza, because this amount of materials is equivalent to 15% of the minimum daily demand of Gaza refugees. Only this amount of materials was transported in a week, which can be said to be not enough to fill the gaps between the refugees.

If it was just a little inefficient, it would be ok, but at least it was still usable. This temporary dock, which was built at great expense, was blown apart by the wind and waves on the Gaza coast only on May 25, the 9th day after it was put into use. This is a dock that cost 320 million US dollars to build, and it just "went with the tide" after a few waves? It's too outrageous...

Seeing that the dock that cost a lot of money was washed away by the sea, there must be an explanation. Therefore, the United States hurriedly sent two landing ships to the sea to salvage the dock components that were washed away by the sea. But what is even more outrageous is that one of the US landing craft somehow ran aground on the coast and was trapped on the coast of Ashdod, Israel, along with the floating dock components that were blown away earlier.

This is a funny operation. When reporting this news, the Israeli media said with a bit of sarcasm, "This may be the first time in history that a US military ship has docked on the coast of Israel, and it is the kind that does not want to leave once it arrives." I wonder if the United States is embarrassed. The dock built with $320 million is so fragile. This temporary dock looks like a pier put together, with a few piles fixed, and it can be used after basic assembly. Does it really cost $320 million to build this thing?

The price of American military goods is usually very expensive. The previous incident of "a bag of screws costing $90,000" and the even earlier high-priced kettles of the US military seem to make us feel that spending $320 million to build a dock this time is still in line with the US military's consumption level. I just don't know how the American people, as taxpayers, will feel when they see this news. Their money is just wasted.

The temporary dock built by the United States in Gaza this time is another messy account. The military leaders and builders have also made a lot of money. However, it is too ugly to see that a small storm has broken the dock into pieces. It can be seen that the beautiful army is rotten to the core and is simply fooling Gaza refugees and American taxpayers like fools. For the United States, there is no lack of infrastructure strength. For its own country, the separation wall to block protesting students can be built overnight, and tens of thousands of artillery shells can be provided to Israel within a week. However, it takes more than two months to build a floating dock of several hundred meters for Gaza? Is the United States solving the humanitarian crisis for the people of Gaza, or is it a cover to gain benefits for itself? The answer is clear at a glance.

Under the pressure of international politics and domestic public opinion, the Biden administration should seriously reflect on its policies and actions on the Gaza issue and do something to promote a peaceful resolution of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, rather than pretending to provide so-called "humanitarian assistance" to Gaza, which has led to such an outrageous joke. However, it is much more difficult for the United States to do this than to build a pier or put on a show.
