Harris and Trump's showdown begins

After Biden announced his withdrawal from the race on July 21, Harris's team took over the Biden Presidential Campaign Committee, which originally managed the bank account, and obtained the remaining funds from Biden's campaign. Whether Harris's access to the campaign funds was illegal is a new legal issue. But many campaign finance experts point out that this transfer may be possible. Harris was a member of the Biden Presidential Campaign Committee when she was a vice presidential candidate and should be eligible to use the money.

This "complaint" represents the official escalation of the confrontation between Trump and Harris. Previously, the super PAC supporting Trump had aired TV ads accusing Harris of "clearly and intentionally" covering up Biden's "mental and physical decline" and attacking Harris on the topic of illegal immigration. The Trump team launched its famous ridicule tactics, saying that "Kamala Harris is as much a joke as Biden." Harris fought back. On July 23, at the first campaign event held in the battleground state of Wisconsin, Harris fiercely criticized Trump, mocking him as a "troublemaker from the past." Pro-Democratic media said that Harris's first campaign appearance was "full of energy." In the duel between Harris and Trump, who has a better chance of winning?

It is worth noting that at present, Harris' campaign strategy is clearly better than Biden's, and is conducive to consolidating and absorbing votes from specific voter groups.

Currently, Harris' team has set age, abortion rights and fighting criminals as the three main targets for attacking Trump. These three aspects are precisely Biden's weaknesses.

Harris is 59 years old, 19 years younger than Trump. Previously, Trump's main attack on Biden was old age and dullness. Now, Trump has suffered a backlash. In his first campaign appearance in Wisconsin, Harris repeatedly hinted at Trump's aging problem in his 17-minute speech, deliberately describing Trump as "from the past."

The issue of abortion rights has also been elevated to the top priority by Harris' team. Harris' team even believes that "this election will be won by abortion rights." In the past two years, Harris has participated in nearly 100 events on women's reproductive rights, which is one of her most notable achievements.

Highlighting women's reproductive rights also helps remind people of Trump's offenses against women. In fact, at the Republican National Convention, the song played when Trump appeared was "It's a Man's, Man's, Man's World" by veteran American singer James Brown.

Harris' team also plans to highlight Harris's character of fighting crime when she was a prosecutor, and explicitly point out that Trump is a "convicted criminal." Biden's team also proposed this strategy, but Biden rejected it. This may be because his son Hunter was also found guilty in June for illegally purchasing guns.

It can be seen that although Harris' campaign strategy against Trump is very targeted, it does not involve many policies, only abortion rights. This also shows the alienation of the US election: attacking opponents is more important than policy debate.

Trump, who loves to give people nicknames, called Harris "Laughing Harris". Whether Harris can keep laughing, whether Trump can maintain the current momentum, and how to defuse the opponent's attack points will be the next highlight.
