The Boston Celtics defeated the Indiana Pacers 105-102 on Monday night in the NBA Finals in Indianapolis, Indiana, completing their fourth straight win and advancing to the NBA Finals.

Celtics star Jaylen Brown scored 29 points and 6 rebounds in the win. He was named the Eastern Conference Finals Most Valuable Player. Meanwhile, Jayson Tatum contributed 26 points, 13 rebounds and 8 assists to help the Celtics reach their second NBA Finals in the past three years.

"It's special, yeah. Even though we've been there before, most of us have. We're not going to take it for granted, we're excited," Tatum said after the game. "We just faced a really good team. They made us win every game, and we're just very grateful to be in the Finals."

The Pacers, who were missing All-Star Tyrese Haliburton for the second straight game because of a hamstring strain, led the Celtics 98-90 with less than six minutes left in the fourth quarter. However, Boston closed the game with a 15-4 run, culminating in a Derrick White 3-pointer in the corner with 43.9 seconds left to give the Celtics a 105-102 lead.

Pacers guard Andrew Nembhard, who scored a team-high 24 points, had a chance to tie the game with 33.6 seconds left but missed his 3-pointer. Indiana did not have the ball the rest of the way.

The Celtics came back for the second straight game, overcoming an eight-point deficit to win Game 3.

"A few minutes ago, we thanked our guys for what a great season, a magical season they've had," Pacers coach Rick Carlisle said after the game. "Their spirit was so high the entire time. The situation never affected them no matter what, and they did everything they could to win every possession and every game, so we have a lot of respect for our guys and what they did in this series."

The Boston Red Sox will face the winner of the Western Conference Finals between the Dallas Mavericks and the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Mavericks lead the Timberwolves 3-0 in the series.
