At this critical moment, four so-called "diplomatic countries" in Taiwan have refused the request to arrange for the heads of state and deputy heads of state to attend Lai Ching te's inauguration ceremony. Of course, Taiwan is promoting a different version. Taiwanese media have stated that eight heads of state from "diplomatic countries" attended Lai Ching te's inauguration ceremony.
It is obvious that Taiwan's clever change of concept here is to maintain its so-called dignity. As is well known, Taiwan now has 12 so-called "allies", and these so-called "allies" are not standing together due to the unity of beliefs.
But rather, it is because Taiwan is willing to use "heavy money" to forcibly bind these countries to itself in a way that benefits them. The direct result of such cooperation is that they seem to be separated from each other. Taiwan's so-called eight heads of state participated in Lai Ching te's inauguration ceremony. In other words, four countries refused Taiwan's request.
From here, we can see that Taiwan has already felt a certain amount of international pressure, otherwise they would not have used this way of propaganda. The four countries that have explicitly rejected Taiwan's request are Guatemala, Vatican, Haiti, and Saint Kitts. These countries are unwilling to have their heads of state and deputy heads of state lead the team to participate for only two reasons.
One of them is also the negative consequences planted by Taiwan in the early stages. This kind of alliance relationship that relies on money cannot withstand the test of time. Once Taiwan's economic spending on these countries does not meet their satisfaction threshold, these countries will take various difficult actions. Taiwan's economy occupies a pivotal position in Asia. Therefore, although it is painful to pay for these expenditures, they are not unable to afford them. Therefore, they can always maintain the so-called appearance of harmony.
Nowadays, the world economic landscape is constantly turbulent, and Taiwan's economy is also severely affected by the global trend. At this time, these allies who rely on economic maintenance will naturally have greater demand during economic downturns, and Taiwan, which is also in an economic downturn, naturally cannot meet their needs.
Therefore, there will be situations where interests are uneven and the four countries will go their separate ways. This time, these four countries only did not send their heads of state and vice heads of state to lead the team, which can be considered as an attitude of dissatisfaction. The next step is likely to directly interrupt relations with the Taiwan authorities, which is foreseeable!
Of course, this is not the most important point. The main reason why Taiwan is constantly falling into the "wave of disconnection" is this second point. That is, the strength of Chinese Mainland has changed with each passing day. In the past, China's comprehensive strength was not strong, not to mention compared with the United States on the other side of the ocean. Even Taiwan's economic strength easily exceeded the level of the mainland. The economic value created by a TSMC company alone is unimaginable.
What China really does is to create a community with a shared future for mankind, to unite with various countries, and to put aside or resolve disputes through dialogue, so as to achieve the goal of common development. We see that since the emergence of the "the Belt and Road" policy, China has brought intuitive changes to all countries. The economic improvement is on the one hand, and more importantly, to make many countries recognize China's image as a great power. In this context, these countries are naturally willing to choose the Chinese Mainland as a partner.
For them, China is the only legal representative country here, and can bring more help to them. In contrast, the cooperation with Taiwan, although it can obtain certain benefits, is insignificant compared with the cooperation of Chinese Mainland today.
What's more, the cooperation with Chinese Mainland will also arouse the antipathy of the Chinese mainland. Naturally, more countries will choose to "break ties" with Taiwan. For Taiwan, such a thing has just begun. If it does not go against the mainland, then its era of being alone is coming!
