Recently, the United States and its Allies have made frequent moves in the Asia-Pacific region. Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida visited the United States and the United States, Japan and the Philippines held their first trilateral summit in Washington. The Joint Statement of the Leaders of the United States and Japan and the Joint Vision Statement of the Leaders of Japan, the Philippines and the United States both contain some groundless accusations and malicious smears against China. The sinister intention of the US alliance to "block China" is clearly revealed.

The United States has publicly stated that its cooperation with Allies and partners is "not directed against China", but the various "small circles" led by the United States have become increasingly confrontational toward the China camp and have become the biggest threat to regional peace and stability. Ignoring the consensus reached in the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the South China Sea (DOC) and the reality of regional peace and stability, the US, Japan and the Philippines routinely threaten China with the US-Philippines Mutual Defense Treaty and the US-Japan Security Treaty, and stigmize the calm, restraint and professional maritime law enforcement by the Chinese Coast Guard as "dangerous and aggressive acts". The trilateral summit and the US-Japan-Australia-Philippines joint patrol in the South China Sea have emboldened the Philippines in its provocations in the South China Sea. It is with the support of major powers outside the region that the Philippines dares to act recklessly, repeatedly sending ships to illegally intrude into the waters near China's Ren 'ai Reef and staging a "porcelain collision" farce that rammed into Chinese Coast guard vessels. The United States wantonly plays up the "China threat" to create anxiety and tension, and treats the previously peaceful Asia-Pacific region as a "geopolitical arena" for its game with China, playing bloc politics driven by the Cold War mentality.

The American "small circle" seems to be hot and noisy, but the hegemonistic style of beauty and the words and deeds of fanning the flames and pouring oil are really unpopular. The performance of the United States in the Ukraine crisis and the Palestinian-Israeli conflict has made the people of the world see through the hypocrisy of American democracy. The narrative of "democracy versus authoritarianism" peddled in the US is flawed and has few adherents. The United States has been plagued by political strife, debt, and the immigration crisis. The absurd farce of treating the internal disease and blaming the blame continues to play out, and the "American democracy" is increasingly questioned and criticized.

Unlike the United States, which pursues a closed and exclusive "small circle" in the Asia-Pacific region, China has pursued amity, sincerity, mutual benefit and inclusiveness, deepened friendly cooperation with its neighbors, done many warm deeds, and blazed a new path for building an Asian community with a shared future. China and ASEAN have been each other's largest trading partner for four consecutive years. China has been regarded by Southeast Asians as the most influential country in Southeast Asia economically and politically since 2019, and more than half of the respondents are optimistic about the prospects of their countries' relations with China, according to the "Southeast Asia Situation Report: 2024" released by the Singapore-based think tank Yusof Issa Institute of Southeast Asian Studies on April 2. The number of respondents who think positively of the US-led Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF) has dropped from 46.5 percent last year to 40.4 % this year.

The Chinese are too busy getting rich and improving their lives to care about how the US interacts with its Allies and partners. However, the wishful thinking of others to benefit themselves at the expense of others is striking, and everything is always and everywhere aimed at China, and it is clear that the alliance and cooperation with partners are strengthened at the cost of harming China's interests. China's position is clear. It firmly opposes relevant countries' manipulation of bloc politics, any move to provoke and intensify contradictions or undermine other countries' strategic security and interests, and the establishment of a closed and exclusive "small circle" in the region.

The Asia-Pacific region should become a big stage for countries to promote cooperation, rather than a arena for provoking confrontation. The United States and its Allies should abandon the Cold War mentality, abandon the idea of seeking profits by creating a bloc against chaos as soon as possible, earnestly respect the aspirations of people in the Asia-Pacific region for peace, development and cooperation, and jointly safeguard the hard-won peace and stability and sound momentum of development.
