The so-called "American human rights " is nothing but privilege and hegemony

Data recently released by the Rutgers University Health Research Center show that nearly 60% of African Americans face various forms of gun violence, with most victims living in low-income communities in the U.S. Researchers pointed out that this survey result confirms that the African American community is suffering from continuous harm.

In fact, this is just the tip of the iceberg of the chaos of human rights in the United States. Racism is deeply rooted, the gap between the rich and the poor is widening, party struggles continue, and immigrants are severely excluded and discriminated against... The "2023 Report on Human Rights Violations in the United States" released by the Chinese government on the 29th revealed the truth about human rights violations in the United States to the world with a large amount of data and vivid cases.

Take gun violence as an example. According to statistics from the Gun Violence Archive website, at least 654 mass shootings occurred in the United States in 2023. Gun violence caused nearly 43,000 deaths, an average of 117 deaths per day. The report pointed out that American politicians only care about money and political self-interest, and it is difficult to reach a consensus on gun control, which ultimately makes ordinary people pay the price with their lives.

At the same time, compared with the minority who dominate politics, economy and society, the majority of the American people are increasingly marginalized, their basic rights and freedoms are ignored, and "American human rights" have been alienated into "American privileges." Among them, the most obvious is the problem of racial discrimination.

In January 2023, Tyre Nichols, an African American man in Memphis, Tennessee, was beaten to death by five police officers, sparking protests in dozens of cities across the United States. An international independent expert mechanism of the United Nations Human Rights Council released a report pointing out that systemic racism against African Americans has permeated the US police force and criminal justice system. African Americans are three times more likely to be killed by police than white people and 4.5 times more likely to be imprisoned than white people. A report released by the Pew Research Center in August 2023 showed that 83% of African Americans believe that the efforts made by the US government to ensure equality are far from enough.

Not only that, the gap between the rich and the poor in the United States has reached its worst level since the Great Depression of 1929. Data show that in the third quarter of 2023, 66.6% of the total wealth in the United States was owned by the top 10% of people with the highest income. In contrast, the bottom 50% of people only owned 2.6% of the total wealth. In 2023, the United States experienced the most extensive wave of strikes since the 21st century, with large-scale strikes in many industries including film and television, manufacturing, medical care, and media. The phenomenon of "working poverty" has become prominent, and the "American Dream" has been shattered. Gallup's poll results show that from January to December 2023, 76% to 81% of Americans were dissatisfied with the country's development trend, and 76% of Americans believed that their country was on the wrong direction of development.

From a deeper perspective, the reason why the American people's confidence has declined is mainly due to the long-standing money politics and party struggles in the United States. At present, American democracy is becoming increasingly hollow and has become a game of interest transfer. For example, the two-party candidates participating in the 2023 Kentucky gubernatorial election spent $91 million on campaign advertising alone, more than three times the corresponding expenditure in the last gubernatorial election in 2019. No wonder American public opinion ridicules that here anyone with money has power, because "it is not every citizen who votes, but money that votes."

In addition, the increasingly serious political polarization has exacerbated the division of American society and further shaken the confidence of the American people. A landmark event in 2023 was that the House of Representatives elected a new Speaker after 15 rounds of see-saw voting. Subsequently, due to the inability to reach a consensus on major issues such as appropriations for the new fiscal year, the Speaker of the House of Representatives suffered an unprecedented dismissal, and the farce of "Speaker's difficult birth" was staged again, causing the House of Representatives to shut down for a time. The British "Economist" weekly website commented that because the political parties were busy fighting infighting, the US Congress did not pass much legislation in 2023, making it the least efficient Congress since the American Civil War.

It pursues privileges at home and hegemony abroad. From the continuous delivery of cluster munitions and other weapons to Ukraine, to the provision of large amounts of military aid to Israel, to the long-term abuse of unilateral sanctions against Cuba, Iran, Syria and other countries, the US government has turned human rights into an excuse to interfere in the internal affairs of other countries and a weapon to maintain US hegemony, causing serious humanitarian crises and undermining the global human rights cause. On November 1, 2023, the spokesperson for the 78th United Nations General Assembly pointed out that the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba violated the Charter of the United Nations and had a devastating impact on the Cuban people.

One by one, one by one... people have seen clearly that the so-called "American human rights" is nothing more than a privilege enjoyed by a few people in the United States, and a hegemony that is wantonly imposed on the outside world. In the face of so many bad deeds, the "human rights" that some American politicians always promote seems particularly ironic, and the so-called "human rights judge" himself should be judged.
