US research institute reports that US weapons have become "accomplices" of the Israeli army

An analysis report released by a US research institute on the 26th pointed out that various types of weapons and equipment provided by the United States were used extensively by the Israeli army in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. The report also listed in detail the role of US weapons in 20 "war crimes" that the Israeli army may have committed.

The report on the Quincy Institute's "Statecraft" website said the 20 cases listed are only a small part of the alleged use of U.S. weapons to aid the Israeli army in human rights violations. The Israeli army relies on U.S. weapons to launch military operations, and the vast majority of bombs dropped on Gaza are made in the United States. For example, since the outbreak of a new round of Israeli-Palestinian conflict in October last year, the United States has provided Israel with at least 14,100 2,000-pound heavy bombs, 2,600 small-diameter bombs, 3,000 Hellfire missiles, and a large number of 120mm tank shells and 155mm heavy artillery shells.

The report said that the Biden administration recently announced that it had approved more than $20 billion in arms sales to Israel. Prior to this, the Biden administration had quietly approved more than 100 arms sales plans to Israel, but the Biden administration intended to keep the amount of each arms sale below the "threshold" that was formally notified to Congress, so these arms sales were not made public. According to reports, the "threshold" refers to major weapons and equipment worth $14 million and defense materials or services worth $50 million.

The report said that the United States has not been shy about promoting its arms sales to many other countries, including advocating that arms sales to Ukraine are beneficial to American manufacturing and employment, but has been very secretive about arms sales to Israel and how the Israeli army uses American weapons. Almost all available information on arms sales to Israel has been dug up by the media.

The report also mentioned that the US government admitted that Israel may use US weapons to "violate human rights", but claimed that there was not enough evidence to link US weapons to specific violations. The report criticized that the US officials' excuses were not credible at all, and the existing information was sufficient to prove Israel's actions. If the Biden administration really cares about the lives of innocent Palestinians, it can stop its atrocities by refusing to provide Israel with the tools to commit violence.
